Heartwood Resort is the destination to discover the beauty and wilderness that Northwestern Wisconsin has to offer. We are located about two hours from the Twin Cities metro in Trego, Wisconsin.
Family owned and operated, at Heartwood Resort you will find comfort and serenity in our unique duplex cabins, lakeside cottages, homes and lakeside hotel lodge rooms. Whether you’re looking to get active outdoors, or for a place to relax and get away from it all, Heartwood Resort has what you need for the perfect vacation.
We are a family destination resort, tucked into seven hundred acres of Wisconsin wilderness. Heartwood Resort is paradise in the Northwoods. The resort is home to two private lakes and the nationally-protected Namekagon River.
During the spring, summer and fall, guests can enjoy amazing complimentary canoe and kayak trips down the Namekagon River. There are endless trails to explore through the woods with exceptional views. Our private Hoinville Lake is home to exquisite catch-and-release fishing for panfish, bass and northern pike with free rowboats and canoes for guests, as well as a great swimming beach equipped with a large inflatable raft.
Guests are welcome to bring their ATVs/UTVs and even Snowmobiles to use on the hundreds of miles of trail that connect to our property. View all of the spring, summer, and fall activities we have to offer at Heartwood Resort!
Heartwood Resort offers guest rooms, cottages, duplex cabins and homes in a wilderness wonderland. Our Eagle Lodge Hotel has 53 rooms with each featuring a private deck/walk out patio (upper-level rooms have decks and lower-level rooms have walk-out patios), microwave and refrigerator.
Stay along the shores of Hoinville Lake in one of our five beautiful cottages. Cottage 5 is set in a more private setting with a driveway, secluded yard and a private dock. Perfect for a quiet getaway. Cottages 1-4 offer beautiful yards and views of the lake. These cottages are strategically placed together, perfect for multiple families or groups that want to enjoy the scenery in an intimate environment, yet are far enough away from each other to have some privacy and still enjoy the neighbors.
